Guest Areas

The Grand Hall is often used for events or weddings, but its day to day use is as a large comfortable lounge, with an ornate fireplace and spectacular cornicing and plasterwork detail. Patio doors lead out into the back garden and the wonderful views across the grounds to the Pentland Hills, a great spot to sip a glass of champagne and watch the sun go down.

There is a selection of books for guests to peruse as well as a plasma tv with Digi box, a Stereo with iPod connection, a DVD player and a Playstation 2 for use by groups or families. DVDs and games however are limited and therefore we encourage guests to bring their own. There is a number of board games and a beautiful antique card table complete with 2 decks of cards for those who fancy a challenge.

The lounge extends to the dining room area and often the two rooms are used as one for an event.

The Dining Room is joined to the Grand hall and is where guests can enjoy breakfast and pre arranged dinners. The room includes a beautiful antique table which can seat 22 people, a great place for a Murder Mystery Dinner or simply a late brunch.

The Kirkhill Mansion Grand Piano is located at the east end of the room, a masterpiece which is asking to be played, and guests are more than welcome to do so.

The Games Room has a pool table and darts board, for guests to enjoy anytime.

The Garden Room has a large glass table which seats 6 people, and is ideal for small group dinner or a board meeting, with views out across the rear grounds.

The Red Lounge is located on the lower ground floor, with tea and coffee making facilites and comfortable seating for up to 10 people. The lounge also has a Stereo with iPod conenction and staff will be happy to move a TV and DVD player into the lounge on request.
